Nestled in the beauty of North Yorkshire’s countryside, Ingleton Waterfalls follows a well-defined footpath which runs close to the edge of the two surrounding rivers as possible — providing spectacular views throughout.

The trail includes a large number of steps which is unfortunately unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, but aside from a few rocky parts, the path itself is a gentle 4.3 mile loop boasting incredible views!

Of course, like anywhere with views this good — the trail does get quite popular, so to park for free in the carpark, we’d recommend getting there as early as possible.

No navigation required on this route — simply park up, grab your leaftlet at the ticket desk, and follow the path all the way round.

With backdrops that wouldn’t feel out of place in Arizona, the walk passes a number of falls — Pecca, Hollybush Spout, Thornton Force, Beezley Falls, Baxenghyll Gorge and Snowy Falls.

As if that lineup isn’t good enough, the trail leads through ancient oak woodland and typical Yorkshire Dales scenery along the way. A particularly good time to visit is a day or two after heavy rain (usually around late April), when the spring flowers are in full bud.

The trail is open seven days a week and closing times vary throughout the year — head on over to Ingleton Waterfall’s website for full details, and enjoy!
