Bluebell Cottage Gardens

A wonderful and fairly hidden gem on the outksirts of Warrington

Location: Lodge Lane, Warrington, WA4 4HP

Facilities: Toilets, Tearoom, Garden and Woodlands

Admission: £5 garden entry

Tucked away down a quiet country lane, Bluebell Cottage Gardens and Nursery is one of Cheshrie’s best-kept secrets. Owned and maintained by former BBC gardener of the year, Sue Beesley, the gardens, nursery and surrounding meadows make for a perfect half-day-out.

The secluded garden wraps around the cottage in a beautiful way — wide herbaceous borders display over 2,000 varieties of hardy trees, shrubs, climbers and plants. Adjoining the garden is a wildflower meadow, bluebell woodland and specialist plant nursery — or if you’re looking for a spot to eat, you can purchase hot and cold drinks, locally made cakes and Cheshire Farm Ice Cream .

A visit in April or May means the bluebells will be well in season — making for an idyllic stroll through the woodlands surrounding.
